A little about me. . .
Hi! I’m Becky.
I am married to Scott (40 years!) – a giant of a man who really is just a teddy bear with his daughters and grandkids. He’s the most brilliant techy I know and I’m not sure what he works on during the day because as soon as he begins to describe heart mapping and code writing in detail my eyes glaze over and my mind wanders. Together our life is blessed; we love Jesus with all of our hearts, and we have a close-knit family and a community of dear friends. Our four daughters, two son-in-laws, and five grandchildren are the joy of our lives.
I am passionate about God’s Word and am convinced that when we read and mediate on Scripture that we are changed from the inside-out, we grow in maturity, and our lives flourish.
I love writing and teaching Bible studies, gardening, trying new recipes, and filling my table with friends and family. I love dark chocolate with nuts, dining outdoors on beautiful summer evenings, watching the sunset on a beach, and my predawn sugar-free vanilla latte next to the fireplace. My favorite Bible is The Passion Translation by Dr. Brian Simmons.
The inspiration for Ever Green is from Psalm 92:12-15 (TLB), 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (MSG), and 3 John 2 (TPT).
The Godly shall flourish like palm trees and grow tall as the cedars of Lebanon. For they are transplanted into the Lord’s own garden and under His personal care. Even in old age they will still produce fruit and be vital and green. This honors the Lord and exhibits His faithful care. He is my shelter. There is nothing but goodness in Him.
May God Himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together – spirit, soul, and body – and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If He said it – He’ll do it!
Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way, and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering.
As I write blogs, share recipes, and study and design Bible studies, I have you in mind. Friends – I am praying that your life will flourish and be fruitful in every season, no matter your age. I pray that your physical health would match your spiritual health. I pray that you will be prosperous in every area of life and you would be whole and holy – body, soul, and spirit.
Thanks for taking this journey with me! Becky
